ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini plan prices and usage limits

List prices for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Grok, taken from each vendor's own pricing page. Limits are quoted in the vendor's wording, including the vague ones. Where a vendor publishes no figure the cell says so.

This page answers what the paid AI subscriptions cost and what each vendor promises in return. It is for someone choosing between them, or checking whether the plan they already pay for still says what it said when they signed up. Every figure was read from the vendor's own pricing page, and each service below carries the date it was last checked; the most recent check on this page was 2 Nov 2026.

What it means for you

Paying starts at $4.99 a month with Gemini and the dearest first step is $20.00 with Claude. At that spread, price is not what separates these services. What separates them is how much each vendor is willing to put in writing.

A monthly price is also the wrong number if you only need a model occasionally. Sending text to the same models through an API is billed by the word instead, and for light use it can cost a few cents a month: the API price tables are the other half of this question.

Not in this table yet: Perplexity. That service is tracked on the status board and its plans will appear here once they have been read from the vendor's own page and checked.

How to read this

Prices are list prices in US dollars, before tax, as printed on the vendor's own pricing page on the date in each stamp. Local currency prices differ and some vendors charge more in some countries. Where a plan is billed yearly the second price column shows what that works out to per month.

Limits are quoted in the vendor's own words. When a vendor writes "5x Pro" or "Unlimited*", that is what the cell says, because rewriting it into a number would be inventing one. An asterisk in a vendor's wording usually points at an abuse policy rather than a published cap.

Context is the largest context window the plan gives access to, counted in tokens. It is not the length of a single message, and vendors reduce it for some features.

A stamp closes every service. It carries the page the figures were read from, the time they were last checked and whether a second source confirmed them. Two sources are the standard for prices and limits; where only one exists the stamp says "Single source" and the figure should be treated as the vendor's claim rather than a confirmed fact. The stamp is shared by the group, so it is dated by the group's oldest check and it claims a second source only when every row in the group has one. Where a group draws on more than one page, every page is listed under the stamp.
