What it means for you
The refresh wording is the part that decides your bill. A limit that resets every 5 hours and again every week means a heavy Tuesday cannot be repaid by a quiet Sunday, so the step from $4.99 to $19.99 is a choice about how long you wait when you hit the wall, not only about which model answers you. Buying AI credits turns that hard stop into a variable cost, which is the point at which a fixed monthly subscription stops being predictable.
In more detail
Our poll of Google’s subscription page reads the United States address on purpose. The default page geo-serves euro prices to the server that fetches it, so the dollar figures below come from the US page rather than from a currency conversion. Today’s read differs from the snapshot stored on 5 September, and the personal tab is where the detail sits.
The numbers
Free stays at $0 with a Google Account: access to 3.6 Flash, varying access to 3.1 Pro, image generation and editing, Deep Research, Gemini Live, Canvas, Gems, and 15 GB of cloud storage across Gmail, Drive and Photos.
Google AI Plus is $4.99 a month for 2x higher usage than Free, 200 Google Flow credits with access to Gemini Omni Flash, more Nano Banana in Search, Gemini in Chrome in early access, and 400 GB of storage.
Google AI Pro is $19.99 a month for 4x higher usage than Free, 1,000 Flow credits, 5x more Audio Overviews, entry rate limits to the agent model in Google Antigravity, higher limits on Jules, the asynchronous coding agent Google lists as being in beta, Google Home Premium at its Standard plan with 30 days of event history, a YouTube Premium Lite plan, and 5 TB of storage.
Google AI Ultra starts at $99.99 a month for 5x higher usage than Pro and runs to $199.99 for 20x, with 10,000 or 25,000 Flow credits, Project Genie on the Genie 3 world model, a YouTube Premium individual plan, and storage starting at 20 TB.
The usage footnote is the part worth reading twice. Limits in the Gemini app are compute-based, factoring in the complexity of a prompt, the features used and the length of a chat. They refresh every 5 hours until a weekly limit is reached, and can be extended by buying AI credits.
Availability wording on the page does not agree with itself. The footnote puts Plus, Pro and Ultra in more than 140 countries and territories, while the Plus card claims more than 160 and the Pro and Ultra cards claim more than 150.
The business tab prices Gemini Enterprise Business edition from $21 per seat per month with up to 300 seats, and the Standard and Plus editions from $30 per seat per month with unlimited seats. The developer tab keeps a no-cost tier whose content is used to improve Google’s products beside a paid tier where it is not, with a Batch API advertised at 50% cost reduction. A banner above all of it offers college students a free Pro plan for one year.
